ARM signs up as foundation client
Text 100 expands China business with opening of new office in Shanghai

Text 100 International, one of the world’s largest global technology public relations consultancies, has established a branch office in Shanghai, China’s largest international business and trade market. This office builds on the company’s existing presence - Text 100 Consulting Services Ltd. - a wholly-owned foreign entity in Beijing.

Text 100’s Shanghai office opens with ARM as its foundation client. ARM is a key player in the global semiconductor industry and has also appointed Text 100 as its supplier of choice in Japan. With these Asian appointments, Text 100 has become ARM’s primary communications partner worldwide.

ARM China is headquartered in Shanghai. It was established in 2002 in support of the nation’s emerging electronics industry. ARM® partners in China now include leading hi-tech companies such as SMIC, Shanghai Jade Technologies Co., Ltd., Datang Microelectronics Co., Ltd., Shanghai Fudan Microelectronics Ltd., ZTE IC Design Co., Ltd., Shanghai HuaHong Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd. and Beijing Watertek Information Technology Co., Ltd.

“The opening of our Shanghai office demonstrates Text 100’s ongoing commitment to serving the needs of clients in emerging markets,” said Aedhmar Hynes, CEO of Text 100 International. “Shanghai was a natural next step in our plans for China. Demand for our services in this city continues to exceed expectations. In addition to ARM’s appointment, our local team has completed a number of projects in Shanghai over the last six months.”

Text 100 Shanghai will initially be staffed by three experienced communications professionals. Additional hires are planned this year. Account Director, William Li, will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the office and its clients. As a local Chinese national, William has nine years experience in technology journalism and public relations. He will be supported by account manager, Joyce Xu, a local Chinese national with four years international agency experience across a wide range of industry practices.

Simon Craddock, Text 100’s Vice President for Client Service in Asia Pacific has also relocated from Tokyo to Shanghai. As part of his regional mandate he will provide management support for Text 100’s Shanghai activities as well as deliver strategic counsel for regional accounts.

Text 100 now operates two offices in China; Beijing and Shanghai, employing 12 experienced public relations consultants. This consulting team has more than 60 years collective experience supporting multinational technology companies in Greater China. Their expertise enables Text 100 China to provide technology and telecommunications clients with a full spectrum of public relations services ranging from media relations, product marketing and event management to strategic consultancy and crisis or issue management.

The opening of Text 100 Shanghai increases the company’s presence in Asia Pacific to 10 offices: Beijing, Korea, India (3), Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Taiwan and Tokyo. In addition, an affiliated partner network, which is now in its seventh year of operation, supports five markets including Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Thailand, and the Philippines.
