Geac Gets Pacts With 2 European Food Producers Totaling $2M -Dow Jones News Service Geac Computer Corp. (GAC.T) has received two new contracts valued at almost $2 million with Czech Republic food processing giant Agropol Group and Agrokor, Croatia's largest private food and drink company. In a news release, the company said Agrokor's 350 users will be upgrading to Geac System21 Aurora, and Agropol will be installing Geac System21 to replace existing Intentia and CSB systems. System21 Aurora combines core enterprise resource planning functionality with real-time business process management for mid-size enterprises. Prague-based Agropol's unified Geac System21 system will go live in March 2004. The system will provide integrated production, distribution, sales, management and reporting. Agrokor has been using Geac software since 1992 to unify its systems and improve production and distribution efficiency. Geac System21 handles the production and distribution of Agrokor products across Eastern Europe, and this contract will add another 100 users. In 2004, Agrokor will upgrade all of its operations onto a standard version of Geac System21, providing uniformity across its expanding group and the capacity to move to the latest version of the software, System21 Aurora, by 2005.
