Atotech expands production facilities in Werder near Neuruppin: Investment of 4 million euros Atotech Deutschland GmbH laid the foundation stone for the expansion of its plant in Werder near Neuruppin, Brandenburg. The production facilities will be doubled to almost 10,000 m², while annual production output will be increased to 20,000 tons, thanks to the investment of roughly 4 million euros. The production facilities, which were officially opened in 1997, were originally designed for 7,500 tons/year. Today, with production at 15,000 tons, the plant has long reached its peak capacity. The expansion project is scheduled to start up operation in the 3rd quarter of 2005. Initially approximately 70 employees will work at the site. The decision to invest in the Neuruppin location underlines the importance to Atotech of production in Neuruppin. Representatives of local society and government were present at the cornerstone ceremony on August 2004. In his introduction, Christian Gilde, district administrator of the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district, emphasized the economic importance of Atotech in the region. In the following speech, Andreas Threbank, Managing Director of Atotech Deutschland, elaborated on the strategic role of Neuruppin's location within the international Atotech Group. After placing the traditional chronicle inside the foundation stone, he wished the new site and the staff much success. Also included for posterity were copies of daily newspapers, Atotech mascots, and various representative products with Atotech finishes.
