|
China's Exports of Agricultural Products Turned a Favorable Trend in 2004 In order to implement "Suggestions on Policies of Promoting Income Growth of Farmers" issued by Central government, perfect the supporting policies and expand export advantages of agricultural products, MOFCOM took a series of encouraging measures with relative departments in 2004 to promote exports of agricultural products with efforts and made a initial achievement. In the first 11 months, exports of agricultural products were US$20.37 billion, up by 10% on a year-on-year bases. It was predicted export in the whole year would exceed US$22.5 billion. Exports of agricultural products increased with stability, and presented the following favorable changes: 1, Exports of advantageous agricultural products boosted. In the first 10 months, total exports of gardening, poultry and livestock and aquatic products were US$12.17 billion, accounting for 67.7% of total exports and growth rates up to 25.7%, 18.7% and 19.5% respectively. 2, Overall rise of export price. In January through Oct., price of 26 agricultural products maintained increasing among 30 main agricultural products monitored by MOFCOM. 3, Quality awareness of agricultural enterprises were completely improved and it was effective in breaking through technological barrier. 4, Foreign investment and private enterprises played an important role in exports of agricultural products. Exports by foreign investment enterprises accounted for 43% of total exports of agricultural products, exceeding that by state-owned enterprises for the first time and ranking the first place; and exports by private enterprises increased by 79.3% , being the fastest .
