EU Became the Biggest Export Market of Quanzhou It was learned from the mid-year conference on foreign trade and economy in Quanzhou that structure of export market and commodities in the first half the year changed obviously. EU has been the biggest export market of Quanzhou and exports of conventional commodities tended to be slow. In the first half the year, EU ranked No.1 in the list of big export markets of Quanzhou with total export value of US$187 million, up by 24% on a year-on-year basis, USA ranked No.2 with exports of US$177 million and East Europe No.3 with exports of US$130 million, up by 13% and 121% respectively. In the aspect of export commodities structure, exports of machinery and electronic products, stone products and finished oil in the first half the year grew rapidly, but exports of conventional products slowed down, growth rate of which was lower than the average level, such as garments with exports of US$224 million, up by 14%, footwear with exports of US$132 million, up by 15% and plastic products with exports of US$124 million, up by 9%. According to relative experts, reduction of export tax rebate was the direct reason for slow growth of exports of conventional products, another factor was the growth of price of raw material, which caused the increase of cost.
