China:Foreign Trade in Jan. through April in Yunnan Reached US$ 1.04 Billion, up by 43.7% on Year-on-Year Basis
According to statistics of Kunming Customs, total foreign trade in Jan. through April in Yunnan reached US$ 1.04 billion, up by 43.7% on year-on-year basis, higher than the national average of 38% .Foreign trade of private enterprises was up by 90%, becoming the second largest pillar of foreign trade in Yunnan.
Large imports of raw material pulled up import. Raw material imports were US$ 0.34 billion, accounting for 68.5% of the total imports, up by 1.2 times on year-on-year basis.
Steady rebounds of exports. Exports in Jan. are down by 15.6% on year-on-year basis due to the readjustment of tax-refunding policies and power shortage. Exports rebounded since Feb., and about 40% growth rates.
Regional cooperation promoted our exports to ASEAN. Favorable tariff agreement on multiple regional economic cooperations was officially implemented from Jan. 1, 2004, which promoted provincial exports to other countries. Yunnan¡¯s exports in Jan. through April to ASEAN were US$ 0.27 billion, accounting for more than half the total , up by 39.9%, exports to Thailand in especial, 1.9 times of growth rate on year-on-year basis.
